Position Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Reports to: Program Manager
Location: Based in Sana’a with travel to IMC Yemen field sites

Context and Background
International Medical Corps is anticipating funding for an emergency assistance project that will start in January. Through the Emergency Assistance to Vulnerable Populations in Yemen project, IMC will address health concerns and immediate malnutrition as well as underlying causes. Integration of health services and nutrition and hygiene interventions will be addressed in order to achieve maximum impact. Health activities will focus on building the capacity of the primary health care system to provide sustainable maternal and child health services as well as institutionalizing the WHO program on Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI). Nutrition sector activities will focus on implementing a community based management of acute malnutrition program that includes the establishment of stabilization centers, outpatient therapeutic programs, management of moderate acute malnutrition, and community mobilization. WASH sector activities will focus on hygiene promotion, and health promotion/prevention for reduced transmission of major communicable diseases.
Primary Responsibilities of this position:
• Working with program staff to ensure that activities and trainings run according to protocol and programme development.
• Developing and identifying necessary measuring tools to assess success in accordance to indicators of program.
• Implementing and coordinating measurement tools in the field.
• Documentation of all activities and outcomes.
• Regular reports to Program Manager
• Setting up the M&E system and ensuring it is implemented efficiently and effectively. The M&E system will be based on the project log frame and the project M&E plan.
• Keeps track of beneficiary numbers according to project indicators, to be submitted at the end of every month.
• Office documentation and other duties as required by Program Manager
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences required, Master’s preferred
• At least two years experience with project-based monitoring and evaluation
• Previous experience developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation tools
• Previous experience working for an international NGO
• Experience using statistical programs like SPSS
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data, outpatient records, health files
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
• Ability and willingness to travel to project and assessment sites as needed
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from senior managers in the field and HQ, counterparts, senior government leaders and other donors
