Position Title:  Program Support Officer 
Reports to: Program Manager 
Location: Based in Sana’a with travel to IMC Yemen field sites

Context and Background 
 
International Medical Corps is anticipating funding for an emergency assistance project that will start in January. Through the Emergency Assistance to Vulnerable Populations in Yemen project, IMC will address health concerns and immediate malnutrition as well as underlying causes. Integration of health services and nutrition and hygiene interventions will be addressed in order to achieve maximum impact. Health activities will focus on building the capacity of the primary health care system to provide sustainable maternal and child health services as well as institutionalizing the WHO program on Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI). Nutrition sector activities will focus on implementing a community based management of acute malnutrition program that includes the establishment of stabilization centers, outpatient therapeutic programs, management of moderate acute malnutrition, and community mobilization. WASH sector activities will focus on hygiene promotion, and health promotion/prevention for reduced transmission of major communicable diseases.
 
Primary Responsibilities of this position:
 
Provide general support to the program in Yemen, including updating project grants files and developing materials about country programs as needed.
Conduct research and assist in the drafting, editing, formatting, and packaging of key program documents for submission to donors, including program reports, proposals, and concept notes; 
Support program assessments and survey and assist in strengthening the internal M&E systems through data entry and analysis and other activities as needed.
Assist in setting up and supporting program-related meetings as necessary (e.g., health coordination conferences, program development meetings, cluster meetings, etc.).
Assist in providing any information required to answer questionnaires by different sources.
Prepare content for promotional and fundraising tools, such as brochures, newsletters, annual reports, and other advertising documents describing IMC activities for publicity purposes.
Follow IMC established policies and procedures, support the successful implementation of program objectives, and provide initiatives aimed at continually improving the quality and performance of IMC-Yemen programs.
Perform any other task as assigned by immediate supervisor.
 
Qualifications & Skills:
 
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences required
Previous experience working for an international NGO
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret administrative reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
Ability to relate to and motivate staff effectively
Ability and willingness to travel to project and assessment sites as needed
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from senior managers in the field and HQ, counterparts, senior government leaders and other donors
