Context and Background
International Medical Corps is anticipating funding for an emergency assistance project that will start in January. Through the Emergency Assistance to Vulnerable Populations in Yemen project, IMC will address health concerns and immediate malnutrition as well as underlying causes. Integration of health services and nutrition and hygiene interventions will be addressed in order to achieve maximum impact. Health activities will focus on building the capacity of the primary health care system to provide sustainable maternal and child health services as well as institutionalizing the WHO program on Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI). Nutrition sector activities will focus on implementing a community based management of acute malnutrition program that includes the establishment of stabilization centers, outpatient therapeutic programs, management of moderate acute malnutrition, and community mobilization. WASH sector activities will focus on hygiene promotion, and health promotion/prevention for reduced transmission of major communicable diseases.
Primary Responsibilities of this position:
• Maintain the Cash Transaction Journal with all backup necessary as per International Medical Corps procedures
• Conduct all payment and payment advance vouchers and completion of documents to ensure compliance with IMC policy and regulations.
• Conduct the daily cash counts and prepare the daily cash reports as well as other kinds of reconciliations.
• Prepare the National Staff Payroll in compliance with rules and regulations with all relevant backups in coordination with the HR department.
• Calculate monthly staff benefits that include social security, income taxes, health insurance, and per diems if applicable as part of the payroll components.
• Follow up on all bank accounts, bank relations, and ensure timely preparation of bank statement letters and bank reconciliations.
• Assist in the Payments’ Process.
• Provide finance data required to maintain the asset, inventory register per IMC and Donors regulations.
• Assist in the Cash Flow Process.
• Assist in procurement and logistics backups necessary for finance records.
• Prepare monthly and weekly cash requests and projections and submit them to IMC Split on a timely manner.
• Responsible for entering data to the Accounting System (ACCPAC) under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager.
• Prepare the Monthly Scanning Report.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance required, Master’s degree preferred
• At least 3 years of finance experience
• Previous experience working for an international NGO
• Knowledge in computerized accounting programs, administration of employee benefits, payroll systems and reporting, office administration, preparation of financial reports and statements, accounts payable and receivable
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
• Honest and trustworthy
