Position: Recruitment Officer - National Staff Position

Status: Full time Staff

Job Summary: 

The Human Resources Officer manages the day-to-day recruitment operations of the Human Resource Department. He/she will be a focal point for all staff and applicants on recruitment issues under the guidance of the HR Coordinator. INTERSOS requires a dynamic person, eager to learn and to develop him/herself.

Responsibilities/duties:

Support to Human Resources Department

  • Maintains a good general knowledge of INTERSOS policies and Yemeni labor law
  • Participates in developing HR team objectives and plans
  • Participates in HR team meetings and external meetings as required

Staff Administration

  • Supports the HR Coordinator with regular update of IMP HQ database for monthly HR recruitment statistics
  • Stores all required documents related to the recruitment process
  • Ensures accurate record-keeping of recruitment vacancies activated

Recruitment and on boarding

  • Coordinates with HR Yemen for advertisement of vacant positions
  • Tracks the recruitment mailbox, provides the applicant list to managers
  • Maintaining database of recommended applicants
  • Screening resumes when required in support to line managers
  • Coordinating interviews and tests with the hiring managers, sharing templates for the hiring manager to update and finalize
  • Performing in-person and phone interviews with candidates, communicating employer information and benefits during screening process
  • Following up on the interview and test process status
  • Follows up with timely reference checking and then send offer letters
  • Ensures new starter checklist complete and all staff receive INTERSOS policies package
  • Provides national staff with INTERSOS ID and open the new staff file
  • Staying current on the INTERSOS HQ and mission structure and internal staff policies
  • Serving as a liaison with employment agencies, academic institutions and HR associations
  • Completing reports on recruitment activity
  • Support the on boarding and induction of new staff
  • Conducting exit interviews

General

  • Any other task required for the smooth running of the HR department
  • Protects the interests of employees and INTERSOS, in accordance with internal policies and Yemeni labor law

Qualification and requirements:

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • Human Resources certification/diploma, desirable

Experience and professional skills

  • Minimum of 2 year of experience working in field of HR with NGOs (local or international)
  • General knowledge of Yemeni labor law
  • Experience of the recruitment and onboarding life cycle
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office suite, including skills in data management and reporting.
  • Effective oral and written communication in Arabic and English
  • Ability to practice of a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
