The Job

JOB TITLE : Mobile team - Pharmacy Assistant   

LOCATION : Al Madaribah district, Lahj governorate

REPORTING TO: Pharmacist

OVERALL PURPOSE

The role assists patients by preparing medications, providing information regarding pharmaceutical use and is recording data

PROJECT OVERVIEW

To improve access to essential health and nutrition services to displaced population and acutely vulnerable communities in Yemen, with focus on Lahj governorate

FUNCTIONAL LINKS

INTERNAL: Pharmacist, Health and Nutrition Officer, Project Manager, Project Officers, Project Assistants

EXTERNAL: Community leaders, IDP and host community families, Community Health Volunteers, and DHO

Responsibilities:

GENERAL TASKS  

  • Uphold the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence
  • Respect the Medair values at all times, both within and outside of working hours
  • Know, understand, and comply with Medair internal policies and procedures
  • Follow the Medair Security Plan and other relates policies and SOPs
  • Adhere to Medair Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) handbook and regulations
  • Respect the patient’s privacy and confidentiality

SPECIFIC TASKS

  • Prepares medications for patients by reviewing and interpreting physician prescriptions, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities
  • Explain each patient, how the medicine needs to be administered and inform about possible side effects
  • Ensures drugs and supplies are stored appropriately and protected from sunlight
  • Conduct monthly inventory and fill the stock request for medicines and medical supply
  • Keep hygiene rules at any time, wash your hands after each patient and use alcohol hand rub, wear a face mask during all consultations
  • Send monthly consumption reports according to requirements of DHO and Medair
  • Any additional duties as requested by the supervisor

Diploma Degree of Pharmacy 

Supply chain management  

WORK EXPERIENCE

2+ years of relevant work experience

Experience in working as part of a mobile team

Working experience with an NGO

WORK CONDITIONS

Position will be based in the Al Madaribah district.

Regular working hours will be 08:00 to 16:30 with 30 minutes for lunch but may require flexibility as the work dictates.

SALARY: According to Medair standard salary scale

JOB COMMITMENT

TYPE OF CONTRACT: Fixed Term Contract

PLANNED START DATE: June 2021

TRAINING: As required

DURATION OF COMMITMENT: 6 Month
